Summary: SSX PS2 Tricky Review
Date: 2007-09-28 -
Comment: Snowboarding games don't get better than the SSX series. If your like me and live in Florida, this game is a great way to hit the slopes.
Summary: Pure garbage
Date: 2007-09-25 -
Comment: I loved the earlier SSX titles, and it seems that EA counted on that excellent series to sell this complete garbage to customers. Its like the original SSX developers left town or went on to other projects at EA. Whatever the reason, this latest SSX release shouldn't even be associated with the others by any measure.
Nothing at all like the previous titles, unfortunately.
Borrow it or buy used (with a return policy...you'll need it) and see what I mean. Wanna save time? Move along to another game.
Summary: Held off on getting this game to long...
Date: 2007-04-19 -
Comment: I held off getting this from the various reviews here. Now that I finally got it I love it.
The hill is so wide open. I was always put off when I would find a cool spot in ssx3 only to run into the end of the play area( sometimes just a short hope off of the main course). This game does have an edge but it will sort of push you back once you find it instead of the harsh reset that ssx3 would give you.
The in game graphics are better and the menus are sketch-booky but I didn't buy the game so I could stare at the between menu graphics. I wont be pausing to watch these opening graphics or show them off to people who have never seen the game like I would if I were showing them ssx3, but thats no biggie.
And why are people so hooked on the pre-made characters? Ugh, I always disliked being someone else's invention. Let me make a guy(or gal) and beat the stuffing out of those old characters.
I haven't finished the game yet but I am making my way through the ranking fairly easily. I'll see how the competition is once I get to the pro level. Even if it is easy to beat I still enjoy just cruzing the mountain and finding all of the hidden trails and other spots that are just fun to hit.
I would say if you have been a fan of ssx you will have fun with this game...
on a sad note I guess this may be the last of SSX for PS2. Oh, well. i think ssx3 and 'on tour' will hold me over till the ps3's are old and cheap.
Summary: fun, fun, fun
Date: 2007-03-23 -
Comment: at first i was disappointed, because the characters are completely different than the last three SSX games. but the more i play it, the more i like it. i love the variety of courses, way more than the last three (or at least it seems that way).
Summary: just plain boring
Date: 2007-03-12 -
Comment: the skiing is boring, the racing is this game is not competitive at all. im a skiier, and thats why i got this game. i have played ssx snowboarding (the old one) and i like that game better then this one. i dont like how its just one big mountain, and not seperated by slopes. the entire mountain are like double black dimonds, which are fun i must say. the game is kinda fun though, but it gets boring after a while
